Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how High Tech Handyman ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, customer portal, or services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide to us:

  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number, and service/billing address, when you create an account, request service, or submit a support ticket.
  • Payment information — when you pay an invoice, payment card details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not receive or store your full card number.
  • Photos and files — job-site photos, receipts, and other attachments you or our staff upload in connection with a job, estimate, or invoice.
  • Signatures — electronic signatures you provide to approve an estimate or authorize work.
  • Communications — the content of messages you send us, including support tickets, emails, and text messages, if you choose to text with us.

Information collected automatically:

  • Account activity and audit history — actions taken on your account (e.g., an estimate viewed or accepted) are logged for security and recordkeeping.
  • Standard web log data — such as IP address and browser type, collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security and troubleshooting purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, schedule, and bill for the services you request;
  • Communicate with you about appointments, estimates, invoices, and support requests;
  • Process payments securely through our payment processor;
  • Maintain accurate business and accounting records;
  • Improve and secure our Service; and
  • Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. How We Share Your Information

We share information only as necessary to operate our business, and only with service providers who are contractually obligated to protect it. Depending on which features are enabled, these may include:

  • Stripe — to process credit/debit card payments;
  • Twilio — to send and receive text messages, if you communicate with us by SMS;
  • Intuit QuickBooks — to sync invoices and payments to our own accounting records, if we've connected accounting software (this does not grant QuickBooks or Intuit access to browse your account — it is a one-way export of your invoice records into our books);
  • Our email and SMS delivery providers — to deliver transactional messages such as invoices, appointment confirmations, and reminders.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of High Tech Handyman, our customers, or others.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption for sensitive data at rest (such as tax identification numbers and stored payment-processor credentials), encrypted connections (HTTPS) for data in transit, and access controls limiting who at High Tech Handyman can view your information. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, and afterward for as long as necessary to comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us using the information below. We will respond to verified requests consistent with applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or other state privacy laws.

7. Cookies

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your session while using the Service. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for use by adults seeking or providing handyman/home-service work and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
